Corporate Profile
Established in January 2014, Darwin Depositary Services is acting as an independent depositary for Alternative Investment Funds and UCITS funds in the Netherlands. Darwin Depositary Services is founded and led by a team of managers with an extensive experience in the financial industry.
Since 16 March 2018 Darwin Depositary Service has been licensed by the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) and, according to art. 2:3g of the Dutch Financial Markets Supervision Act, authorized to act as AIFMD depositary. The license applies to funds that invest in equities, fixed income, hedge funds, real estate, private equity, fund of funds, infrastructural projects, loans and wind farms.
The depositary services are rendered independent from fund managers, administrators, custodians and other service providers in the investment chain. Moreover, Darwin Depositary Services is not rendering any other services than depositary services and this position is deliberately chosen to avoid any (potential) conflict of interest. Darwin Depositary Services is therefore able to act in the best interest of the fund and its investors. Such independent position also warrants that a fund manager may choose any service provider for its fund without being bound by cross selling objectives of the depositary of the fund.
Darwin Depositary Services renders depositary services, both full and ‘lite’, to all types of Alternative Investment Funds and UCITS funds established in the Netherlands or outside the EU, including hedge funds, real estate funds, funds investing in wind farms and infrastructure, debt funds and private equity funds. To date Darwin Depositary Services is acting as depositary for over 45 funds.
Darwin Depositary Services is committed to render its depositary services in an efficient manner. The knowledge and expertise of its staff enables Darwin Depositary Services to render a professional and tailored service to the manager and the fund.
Darwin Depositary Services is member of the Dutch Association of Depositaries.
